The Offshore Sailing School is running its third annual learn to sail/team-building program for students from Cypress Lake Middle School in Fort Myers. The free event provides fun, challenging exercises ashore and under sail for 15 students who earned a place on this year’s Cypress Lake Sailing Team.
Teams of five are assigned to three Colgate 26 sailboats, each with an instructor who guides a learn-to-sail course. Participants also enjoy competitions to stretch problem-solving imaginations. A final-day regatta includes first-, second- and third-place Olympic-style medals donated by Roberts Advertising and lunch at Bowditch Park. Each student goes home with a medal and a certificate.
